Job description

Pay starts at $26-$28 per hour plus $1 per hour shift differential

3rd Shift: 11pm-7:30am Monday-Friday

Duties and Responsibilities

Administers, organizes, and conducts cross-training for value stream associates. Exhibits a high level of expertise in the general functionality of the equipment and processes as it relates to standard work, transferring this knowledge as part of cross-training. Provides feedback & coaching around quality issues relating to first time through, while providing continuous training related to operator errors. Provides leadership that would include coaching, conflict resolution, identifying process constraints, appropriate problem solving, and working on the line as the need arises. This position has limited decision-making since problems can generally be evaluated in terms of defined procedures or precedents. Responsibilities also include the training of new and temporary associates, while providing the shift supervisor with relevant performance feedback.

  • Train and provide feedback to associates on all aspects of production roles, including: new hires, cross-training, safety practices and procedures, quality requirements and control plans, standard work, etc.
  • Conduct audits to ensure standards are maintained. This includes, but is not limited to: safety, finished goods quality, control plan, scrap, and standard work audits.
  • Facilitate the front line management process in accordance with AMS (lean) principles. Lead continuous improvement activities through effective associate involvement.
  • Assist in line set up through collaborative effort with shift supervisor, including identification of associates training.
  • Follow and administer all safety procedures and protective equipment according to standards. Be proactive on safety concerns and make recommendations when appropriate.
  • Coordinate the movement of associates according to business needs following training techniques to complete certification of trained skills.
  • Assist in the development and lead the continuous improvement of standard work and quality plans. Administer and train associates to these expectations.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of communication, conflict resolution, process constraints, and problem solving.
  • Deploy, execute, and train Lean Principles.
  • Work with team leaders from other lines to backfill for any absentee issues.
  • Follow Supervisors' direction on decisions related to operations and personnel.
Qualifications
  • 2-year degree, lean certification plus manufacturing experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Solid skill set in the areas of communication, constraint identification, and appropriate problem solving.
  • Knowledge of operations, product, processes, and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills including PC applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate associates.
