Job summary

Alexandria Industries in Minnesota is seeking a Manufacturing Associate to lead safe, efficient production and order fulfillment. You will run equipment, inspect parts, and ensure quality while supporting continuous improvements.

Responsibilities include reading die drawings, using measuring tools, maintaining 5S, and coordinating with teams to meet delivery schedules. Experience in manufacturing and strong computer skills are preferred; training in extrusion 101 may be provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years in manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and safety awareness.
  • Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts to spec.
  • Proficient in measuring tools and basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Lead to model safety and company vision in daily tasks.
  • Set up and run equipment safely to maximize output.
  • Fulfill orders: review specs, ensure quality, package and load.
  • Operate forklift, crane, yard truck; inspect equipment and report repairs.
  • Stock products and process electronic transfers; monitor due dates.
  • Meet delivery schedules and support 5S housekeeping.
  • Participate in inventory audits and continuous improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exhibit active leadership in order to model and support the company’s vision and strategies
  • Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
  • Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently in order to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements
  • Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders:
    • Review manufacturing orders in order to verify internal and external customer specifications
    • Ensure all quality practices are being followed
    • Check the hardness and temper of each alloy
    • Package orders based on customer specifications
    • Load trailers based on customer specifications
    • Operate forklift, Crane, Yard Truck and trailer shuttling.
    • Inspect equipment and report if repairs are needed.
    • Stock products and process electronic transfers
    • Monitor manufacturing orders for due dates and customer packing and shipping instructions.
    • Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction
  • Monitor and make correct process changes for packing the product or changing rates
  • Participate in inventory audits and inventory management.
  • Provide suggestions and continuous improvements ideas to help better processes and procedures
  • Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine)
  • Continually support and improve the department’s key measures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent degree
  2. Experience:
    • 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
  3. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to recognize safety concerns
    • Knowledgeable in companywide computer systems and programs
    • Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated work area
    • A highly motivated self-starter
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Basic math skills
    • Ability to detect minor defects in the finish of the product
    • Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts according to customer specifications
    • Ability to properly use appropriate measuring tools
    • Knowledge of the age cycle and the effect it has on the material
    • Teamwork
    • Ability to take part in additional training e. Extrusion 101

The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.60 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
