Responsibilities

• Oversee extrusion operations to meet performance and quality targets.
• Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

• Support preventative maintenance programs for extrusion equipment.

• Provide technical guidance to manufacturing teams to resolve production and process issues.

EXTRUSION SENIOR PROCESS TECHNICIAN - Warren County, TN

Our client is seeking an experienced Extrusion Senior Process Technician to support and improve extrusion operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

This role will focus on process optimization, equipment performance, troubleshooting, waste reduction, quality, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee extrusion operations to support equipment performance, product quality, and production schedules
• Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
• Troubleshoot extrusion equipment and production issues to minimize downtime
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues
• Support preventative maintenance programs for extrusion equipment
• Partner with quality teams to resolve extrusion-related product issues
• Train and mentor team members on extrusion processes, best practices, and safety procedures
• Ensure extrusion activities meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain production data, maintenance records, quality documentation, and performance metrics
• Collaborate with engineering, design, quality, R&D, and supply chain teams on process and product improvements
• Review manufacturing designs, specifications, materials, tooling, and production processes for manufacturability
• Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and design-for-manufacturability initiatives
• Provide technical guidance to manufacturing teams to resolve production and process issues

What You Bring

• Extensive experience with thick- and thin-wall extrusion operations and processing
• Strong hands-on knowledge of extrusion equipment, materials, tooling, troubleshooting, and process optimization
• Experience identifying manufacturing issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions
• Ability to analyze production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, cost, and safety
• Previous Quality Management System experience
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively across departments and levels of an organization
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email, and related business systems
• Reliable transportation

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Production Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Experience with thick- and thin-wall extrusion operations and processing
• 5+ years of extrusion experience
• 5+ years of engineering and design experience
• Previous direct personnel management or team leadership experience
• Experience working with a variety of extrusion materials, thicknesses, and product sizes
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, design for manufacturability, CAD, or manufacturing simulation tools
