The Production Supervisor will ensure that employees safely produce the highest quality products in the silicone industry, following the standards of operation as set forth by SGPPL, Beaverton. Promote a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings. Exhibit good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.

Supervise shift employees to ensure that they are working safely, producing quality product and meeting operational objectives. Manage Schedule Adherence and %OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) by department. Facilitate problem solving activities to help troubleshoot problems on the production floor. Periodically conducts process/product quality audits and communicate customer complaints. Fully utilize and interface with the MRP systems to ensure complete data input and output on a daily basis.

Coach and develop direct reports. Manage departmental activities and coordinate with support departments to meet facility/corporate objectives. Initiate/participate in self-development and training of others. Understand all safety, environmental and quality policies and significant impact of job activities.

  • Exhibits and ensures department conformance to safety awareness and safe work practices.
  • Manage Schedule Adherence and %OEE by department
  • Supervise daily activity of direct reports. Develop personal/departmental goals and objectives and review previous performance with each employee through an annual review. Provide frequent feedback and coaching, and corrective action as needed.
  • Perform Quality audits of parts by department and communicate customer complaints to raise awareness.
  • Manage departmental activities and coordinate with support departments to meet facility/corporate objectives.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
  • Bachelors degree in a technical field or business administration required.
  • Consideration may be given to those with 10+ years' experience in lieu of formal degree.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment required.
  • 3+ years of experience directly supervising, leading, and developing others required.
  • Knowledge of plastic injection molding products, equipment, and processes a plus.
  • Proficient in use of computers and spreadsheet software with experience with business systems (Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or WCM experience a plus
  • Must be independent, quality and cost conscious, with skills in leadership and team building.
  • Strong leadership skills, be a strategic thinker.
  • Excellent interactive skills, team player. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
