Job summary

Proterial Cable America in Ashaway, Rhode Island, is seeking an Extrusion Operator II to manufacture plastic tubing products to customer specifications. This role follows standard work methods to ensure repeatability and top quality in a controlled plant environment.

You will set up and operate extrusion equipment, adjust tooling and processing parameters, inspect outputs, document data, and assist in training team members. Safety-minded, you will work in a fast-paced setting from 6am to 6pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong technical aptitude required.
• Ability to communicate technical challenges and carry out improvement suggestions.
• Must work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Quality conscious with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate extrusion equipment according to approved parameters.
• Adjust tooling and processing parameters to stay within specifications.
• Inspect products using approved methods and equipment.
• Collect and package products per standards.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Enter data into computer systems and complete paperwork.
• Perform line shutdown, purging, and prepare for next order.
• Assist supervisor and train other operators as needed.
• Lift materials and equipment up to 25 pounds, occasionally 50–100 pounds.
