Teknor Apex in Jacksonville, TX, is seeking a Production Lead to manage a 2:30 pm–10:30 pm shift. You will set tone for safety and quality, confirm batch cards, stage materials, and align people and equipment for smooth production.

You’ll drive uptime, train operators, and hand off a well-prepared line at shift end. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2–3+ years on production equipment, and forklift certification.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Hit daily production targets while planning ahead for upcoming runs.

Job description

Step into the lead at Teknor Apex

When your shift starts at 2:30 pm, you’ll set the tone for safety, pace, and quality. You’ll confirm batch cards, stage raw materials, and align people and equipment so production flows without a hitch. You’ll champion quality standards established by our customers and Teknor Color Company, keep equipment running safely, support operators during changeovers, and capture accurate performance data before handing off a well-prepared line at 10:30 pm.

Must be 18 years of age to work at Teknor Apex.

Key responsibilities

• Hit daily production targets while planning ahead for upcoming runs
• Uphold customer and Teknor Color Company quality standards
• Collect and verify batch cards for each product run
• Ensure safe operation of extrusion and related equipment at all times
• Troubleshoot and operate machinery when needed to maintain uptime
• Partner with operators to streamline changeovers and keep lines moving
• Record shift metrics in the daily production report
• Model and enforce company rules, policies, and safe work practices
• Flex to overtime or alternate schedules as business needs require
• Lead a safe, compliant shift environment
• Stage equipment, materials, and staffing for upcoming production before it’s urgent
• Follow documented procedures, work instructions, and test methods to perform and log in-process tests and final QC inspections

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or GED
• 2–3+ years operating production equipment; plastics processing experience preferred
• Familiarity with plastic extrusion equipment (preferred)
• Current forklift certification
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
• Proven team leadership capability
• Ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs
• Ability to wear a respirator as required

Schedule, location, and reporting

• Hours: 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm; initial training on 1st shift
• Reports to: Production Manager
• Location: Jacksonville, TX
