Job summary

Teknor Apex in Jacksonville, TX is seeking a production shift lead to manage nightly operations from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm. You will ensure safe extrusion processes, verify batch cards, and maintain uptime by troubleshooting equipment and coordinating changeovers with operators.

The role requires 2–3+ years in plastics production, forklift certification, and strong communication. You will contribute to quality and efficiency while meeting daily targets and shift reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3+ years operating production equipment; plastics processing experience preferred.
• Current forklift certification required.
• Must be 18 years of age to work at Teknor Apex.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Hit daily production targets while planning ahead for upcoming runs.
• Uphold quality standards for customers and Teknor Color Company.
• Collect and verify batch cards for each product run.
• Ensure safe operation of extrusion and related equipment at all times.
• Troubleshoot and operate machinery to maintain uptime.
• Partner with operators to streamline changeovers and keep lines moving.
• Record shift metrics in daily production report and logs.
• Lead a safe, compliant shift environment and follow procedures.
• Stage equipment, materials, and staffing for upcoming production.
• Flex to overtime or alternate schedules as needed.

Step into the lead at Teknor ApexWhen your shift starts at 2:30 pm, you’ll set the tone for safety, pace, and quality. You’ll confirm batch cards, stage raw materials, and align people and equipment so production flows without a hitch.
