Job summary

Amcor is seeking an Extrusion Operator to lead all extrusion lines (Blown Film or Coater), including changeovers, machine start-up, running and shutdown, while ensuring safety and quality. This 12-hour night shift runs 7 PM–7 AM on a 4-on/3-off rotation.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • Able to understand a computer and programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all extrusion lines (Blown Film or Coater).
  • Perform changeovers, startup, running and shutdown.
  • Organize, record and store resin properly.
  • Adjust machine specifications, pressures and equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately.
  • Direct the extrusion assistant to minimize changeovers and downtime.
  • Train the extrusion assistant and ensure competency.
  • Uphold product safety responsibilities.
  • Follow 5S and World Class Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Whatyou’lldo:

  • Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
  • Run all jobs in accordance with customer specification, manufacturing specification, and standard operating procedures.
  • Organize, record, and ensure proper storage of resin.
  • Adjust machine specifications, pressures, and equipment for each job.
  • Ensure all appropriate paperwork is filled out accurately and completely.
  • Work with and direct the extrusion assistant and other team mates to minimize job change-over and down time.
  • Train and direct the extrusion assistant to become efficient at all the required assistant duties defined in each level of the assistant training matrix on time.
  • While also knowing and understanding the role in product safety.
  • Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work)
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs
  • Willing and able to stand and walk for a 12 hour shift
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
  • Frequent use of wrist and hands
  • Frequent stepping up and down from platforms
