Job summary

Laborup is hiring Extrusion Operators in Morristown, NJ for a large plastics manufacturer. This hands-on role runs extrusion lines from startup through finished product, operating extruders, downstream equipment, pullers, saws, and tooling while ensuring products meet specification.

You will prepare and start equipment, monitor performance, adjust processes, perform quality checks with precision tools, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with maintenance and tooling teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic production equipment issues.
• Ability to read and understand product specifications and work instructions.
• Experience using measuring instruments such as tape measures and calipers.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion line equipment—extruders, downstream equipment, pullers, saws, and related production gear.
• Prepare extrusion lines for production, verify setup, and complete startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
• Make process adjustments to color, length, tooling position, pins, and other variables to stay within spec.
• Perform routine quality checks with precision tools such as tape measures, calipers, squares, microscopes, and color meters.
• Identify equipment, tooling, quality, and process issues and coordinate with maintenance and production leadership when needed.
• Monitor material needs, maintain production flow, assist downstream packaging, and document records accurately.
• Complete required production, quality, scrap, labeling, and equipment records accurately.
