Job summary

Greenbridge in Mentor, OH seeks an Extrusion Operator (Group Lead) to set up and maintain one to four production lines, supervise machine operators, and ensure product specifications are met.

You will troubleshoot production issues, perform minor maintenance, follow safety protocols, and document problems. Prior manufacturing experience and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Read, write and possess basic math skills.
• Good Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment to manufacture product according to specifications.
• Change screen packs in extruders as needed.
• Monitor temperatures in extruders and ovens and adjust as necessary.
• Observe and maintain conditions of equipment and write work orders when necessary.
• Ensure proper raw materials and additives are used according to product specifications.
• Ensure safety guards are in place and working properly.
• Troubleshoot production problems and take corrective action.
• Clean and maintain equipment as applicable.
• Perform minor repairs such as clearing and draining water lines, changing filters, and assisting with maintenance.
• Provide guidance and aid to machine operators as necessary.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

The Extrusion Operator (Group Lead) works under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor. Responsible for setup and maintaining one to four production lines. Provides assistance and direction to machine operators. Monitors and records correlation of strapping produced to product specifications. Troubleshoots production problems and communicates problems to Foreman. Performs minor maintenance on entire machine and related equipment. Performs housekeeping duties and other tasks as assigned.

• Monitors temperatures in extruders and ovens and adjusts as necessary.

• Makes sure that proper raw materials and additives are being used according to product specifications.
• Ensures that all safety guards are in place and working properly.

• Cleans and maintains equipment when applicable.
• Makes minor repairs as necessary such as clearing and draining water lines, checking and changing filters, clearing or changing winder arms, assisting with other maintenance.
• Providing guidance and aid to machine operators as necessary.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
