Job summary

WL Plastics Corporation is seeking a Line Operator in Lubbock, TX for the day shift. The role focuses on operating, maintaining extrusion equipment, and improving machine performance on a production line.

Responsibilities include process monitoring, minor maintenance, troubleshooting, and process improvement; the operator reports to the Production Supervisor or Lead Operator. A high school diploma or GED and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient reading, writing and basic math abilities.
• Ability to use and interpret precision instruments, tools, machinery and equipment.
• Must be able to work safely in a production environment; physically capable of job tasks.
• Good organizational skills; able to prioritize, manage time and multitask.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Adjust controls to draw product into specified diameter.
• Assist with changeovers on extrusion machines according to production line changes.
• Clean work areas and load machine hoppers with mixed materials.
• Measure and examine extruded products for defects and ensure quality conformance; adjust controls as needed.
• Reel extruded products into rolls of specified lengths.
• Start machines and set controls to regulate vacuum, air pressure, sizing rings, temperature and speed.
• Document machine operating conditions and product measurements.
• Report major process changes to Production supervisor.
• Package product and move to staging area for quality control inspection.
• Perform other duties assigned by Production Supervisor.
• 12-hour shifts to include weekend work.
