Job summary

YKK AP America Inc. is seeking an extrusion operator to manage extrusion handling systems and support production lines. The role requires attention to quality, precise measurement using calipers and micrometers, and safe operation of multiple machines in a high‑volume environment.

Strong reading, writing and math skills are essential, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work as part of a team. Compensation ranges by experience and is disclosed as an hourly wage in the posting.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have the ability to read, write and count.
• Must be able to read scale calipers and micrometers and understand the metric system.
• Must have demonstrated effective communications skills and the ability to be a team player
• Must have the ability to lift approximately 40-50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Check orders and procedures for production.
• Inspect jigs and status of pallets before operation of equipment.
• Operate extrusion handling systems and adjust equipment as necessary: head/tail stretcher, cooling table, saw table, chip collector, loading machine, pallet conveyor, aging oven.
• Examine products for quality and defects using calipers, micrometers, and a Webster Hardness Tester.
• Discard defective/imperfect product.
• Review equipment at start of every shift and assist with repair.
• Complete and maintain production reports and reports of equipment utilization/repair.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
