Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an Extrusion Lead Maintenance Technician IV (Day Shift) in the US. This full-time, permanent role on 1st shift focuses on installing, maintaining and improving extrusion equipment, PMs, and rapid problem solving to minimize downtime.

Strong PLC, CNC, and robotics knowledge highly valued. The role requires 5+ years in a multicraft environment, leadership ability, and proven diagnostic skills; familiarity with Allen Bradley, Fanuc, and printed diagrams is

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Multicraft Environment.
  • Leadership skills and experience preferred.
  • Ability to teach, coach, and mentor a team.
  • Strong Electrical and Electrical Diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex prints and Diagrams.
  • Ability to Work with and Diagnose CNC equipment.
  • Understanding of G code and M codes is desired.
  • PLC skills and electronic drive Control skills.
  • Connected components, and knowledge of Allen Bradly software desired.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, improve and repair equipment, plant, services and building installations to set levels effectively in compliance with best practices ensuring production efficiency.
  • Respond to technical issues affecting production and maintain electrical and mechanical services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PM).
  • Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve, with minimal downtime to production.
  • Carry out diagnosis of faults, perform maintenance and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service.
  • Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required time scales.
  • Identify and elevate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage.
  • Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management.
  • Use trouble shooting method such as 5 Why, Fish Boning, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations.
  • Ensure company targets are met in respect of quality of parts produced.
  • Identify spares requirements and log usage.
  • Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PM) schedules.
  • Carry out PM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required and provide feedback to develop the system.
  • Assist with the moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment.
  • Make full use of the computerized maintenance management system
  • CMMS tracking and Data Entry is a critical component of the job
  • Fill in job tickets/log completion of work on the computerized maintenance management system
  • Operate man lift, fork and other lifting equipment
  • Work within 5S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard
  • Ensure all personal protective equipment is identified, always available, correctly used and all associated problems are reported to management
  • Ensure all lost time, minor and trivial accidents are reported
  • Promote environmental issues and ensure all company procedures are understood and followed
  • Ensure a safe working environment exists for self and colleagues, ensuring all health, safety environmental and quality management procedures are followed and achieve the company’s and departmental KPI targets
  • Undertake special projects as required
  • Undertake continuous training and development
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
  • Provide assistance and train less experienced technicians and apprentices

Base Pay Rate: $28-$40.50 per hour

1st Shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
