Job summary

MXL Industries is seeking an Extrusion Lead I to oversee daily extrusion production lines, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in line with company standards. This hands-on leadership role coordinates with maintenance, quality assurance, and supervision to keep equipment running and production targets met.

You will mentor operators, participate in training and safety programs, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on material flow, waste reduction, and inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Learn and support daily extrusion operations, including setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Understand extrusion processes and equipment for acrylic, polycarbonate, and thermoplastics.
• Assist Leads in coordinating schedules, line changes, and materials.
• Monitor line performance to improve efficiency and address issues.
• Participate in training on machine operation, process control, QA, and safety.
• Work with QA to follow inspection procedures and documentation.
• Identify safety concerns, equipment issues, or deviations for supervision.
• Learn troubleshooting for extrusion lines, dies, conveyance, and chill rolls.
• Assist with shift handoffs and communicating production status.
• Participate in performance reviews for readiness for advancement.
• Join meetings and training to build leadership and communication skills.
• Engage in continuous improvement to optimize material flow and inventory.
