Job description

Wastequip's Toter Brand is hiring for an Extrusion/Compounding Operator at our Statesville, NC manufacturing location. This full-time position offers excellent benefits, including health insurance, a 401K plan, paid vacation and sick leave, among others. The Extrusion/Compounding Operator is responsible for setting up, starting up, and shutting down extrusion lines to safely produce quality resin at the desired output rate.

We have openings for the following shifts:

  • 1st Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Pay rate: $17.97/hour plus a shift differential of $1.00 for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to compound schedules and current blends
  • Setting up machines for production runs
  • Monitoring equipment for maintenance and safety issues
  • Maintaining accurate production reports
  • Following all Standard Operating Procedures
  • Cleaning hoppers and pelletizers, gathering materials, calculating formulas, and changing screens as needed
  • Monitoring machine operation for quality and production standards
  • Conducting quality checks on produced resin
  • Using all required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area according to safety and 5S standards
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to work assigned shifts
  • Adherence to all company policies and safety rules
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license and operate a forklift
  • Ability to maintain production reports
  • Competence with air guns and machine controls
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to identify quality defects
  • Ability to work under extreme heat conditions
  • Wearing safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE
