Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Marion, OH is hiring an Extrusion Associate for the 3rd shift (Sun-Thu, 11pm–7am). You will fabricate components for final window assemblies in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, using hand tools, saws, welders and routers.

Pay starts at $17 per hour plus $1 per hour shift differential. Duties include mass-producing parts, reading work orders and measurements, training new employees, and ensuring quality while standing for long shifts on concrete

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the US.
• Able to pass background and drug tests.
• Able to read and carry out written instructions.
• Prefer manufacturing experience and tape-measure reading ability.
• Able to stand or walk on a concrete floor for up to 10 hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units.
• May support the window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, saws, welders, or routers.
• Read and carry out simple written instructions.
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules.
• Use a tape measure to read measurements during the interview process.
• Inspect for product defects and ensure quality.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Extrusion Associate is responsible for the fabrication and production of the component parts for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This job description is reflective of tasks that will be performed in a variety of departments.

• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units
• May support the window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows
• Perform any workstation function using hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers
• Understand and carry out verbal instructions
• Read and carry out simple written instructions
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules
• Use a tape measure (will be asked to read measurements during the interview), inspect, examine, and observe for product defects
• Make fraction and decimal conversions
• Operate any equipment needed to perform a job
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
• Ability to carry out written or verbal instructions
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Preferably with experience in manufacturing
• Preferably with experience reading a tape measure
• Employees are required tostand or walk on a concrete floor surface for up to a ten-hour shift
