Job Title: Extrusion Assistant Operator/Winder

Classification: Hourly

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Department: Extrusion

Summary of Job

Responsible for assisting in the operation of assigned converting machine(s), ensuring product safety, quality, and throughput.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Support and promote Pregis' core values: integrity, collaboration, customer focus, and innovation.
• Adhere to safety programs, guidelines, rules, and PPE requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standards for a safe and orderly environment.
• Conduct physical and visual inspections to prevent non-conforming goods.
• Report quality defects promptly.
• Manage production supplies and materials to minimize downtime.
• Monitor machine operation for accurate measurements and quality.
• Meet or exceed production rates, minimize waste, and fulfill customer requirements.
• Focus on downstream winder to ensure proper product allocation.
• Assist with entering production data into the machine computer.
• Separate scrap by color coding, operate core cutting machine, vacuum lift, and pallet jack.
• Acquire knowledge of machine operation for troubleshooting and assistance.
• Attend safety meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Exposure to moving equipment.

Physical Characteristics

• Frequent standing, stooping, squatting (up to 75%).
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs).
• Occasional typing, voice-assisted tasks.

Position Type

• Full-time.
• Shift work (12-hour shifts, 6PM-6AM, 2-week cycle).
• Overtime as needed.

Education and Experience
