C-P Flexible Packaging is seeking a Night shift Extruder Operator to run the extruder safely and efficiently, ensuring the product meets customer specifications. This role requires reading production orders, performing set-ups, and monitoring quality throughout 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading materials, making equipment adjustments, and maintaining communications with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Be able to operate machinery and have some mechanical ability.
• Reading a tape measure/ruler.
• Ability to use a computer (data entry).
• Basic math skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Communicate well with others.
• Basic reading skills.
• Basic writing skills; legible.
• Use of minor tools (e.g. Allen wrenches).
• Use of sharp cutting tools.
• Process written information (orders, SOPs).

Responsibilities

• Perform set-ups and operation of machine.

Job Summary

To operate an extruder safely, efficiently, productively and produce a quality product in accordance with company and customer specifications.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Perform set-ups and operation of machine

  • SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
  • SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP’s

Physical Demands

• Moving/Carrying ability, 50 lbs repetitively/frequently; 70 lbs intermittently for up to 5 ft.
• Lifting ability; up to 50 lbs intermittently
• Standing for extended periods. (consistently - 70-80%)
• Bending, twisting and reaching (intermittently -60-70%)
• Push/pull of up to 100 lbs. (occasionally - 20-30%)
• Extensive use of hands and fingers
• Extensive time on feet, walking/ standing
• Use of step ladders, (if needed)

Working Conditions

• Working 12 hr. shifts.
• Ability to work in a non-air conditioned environment: hot conditions during summer months and cool conditions during winter months. (consistently)
• Should be able to travel if offsite training is needed
• Must be available for overtime due to vacation coverage
• Take breaks at various times to allow for continuous running of the extruder
• Follow all safety regulations and rules at all times, including wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE):
