Job summary

Winchester Interconnect in Dayville, CT seeks an Extruder Operator for the 3rd shift (12:00 am - 8:00 am) to set up, operate, and maintain extrusion equipment used to produce jacket insulation. You will ensure products meet tolerances and correctly align the center cable to insulation.

The role requires reading micrometers, loading/unloading pay-off reels, and performing in-process tests while adhering to manufacturing specifications. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical ability to operate the extrusion line.
  • Ability to read a micrometer and verify tolerances.
  • Load and unload pay-off reels as part of the setup process.
  • Familiarity with in-process test procedures used to ensure quality.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain extruding machines for jacket insulation.
  • Ensure extruder operates at specified speeds and align center cable to insulation within tolerances.
  • Complete required tests on cable and document results.
  • Work to meet minimum productivity and quality requirements and accommodate overtime.

Position Summary

As an Extruder Operator on the 3rd shift (12:00 am - 8:00 am) you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the extruding machines used in the manufacturing process. You will work to ensure the production of high-quality extruded products, specifically in the area of jacket insulation. The role requires operating the extruder at specified speeds, setting up the equipment, and ensuring the correct alignment of the center cable to insulation, while meeting required tolerances.
