Job summary

CRH, including its Oldcastle Infrastructure division, is seeking an Extruder Operator to run a PVC pipe production line for water, sewer, and commercial applications. The role emphasizes safety, equipment maintenance, and quality output with opportunities to join safety and culture committees and engage in continuous improvement.

You will be trained to operate feeders, extruders, and downstream equipment, supporting a team to maintain product quality and line efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, construction, or related field.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Check daily production schedule and count-sheets in the office for any special instructions or changes.
• Record machine speeds, regrind silo levels, and other pertinent information on logs.
• Monitor extruder temperatures, back pressure, amps, and feed speeds to keep within limits.
• Adjust extruders and related equipment as necessary.
• Collaborate with machine tenders to resolve issues and ensure quality output.

Job Summary

As an Extruder Operator at National Pipe and Plastics you'll be running a production line producing PVC pipe of varying specifications for water, sewer and commercial applications. National Pipe and Plastics puts the safety of its staff first and looks to ensure equipment is well maintained, housekeeping is kept to the highest standard, employees are fully engaged, and safety issues are addressed timeously. You'll have the opportunity to join our Safety and Culture committees that put "People Before Pipe". National Pipe and Plastics focuses on employee engagement as a means to improve our working environment and create continuous improvement. You will be fully trained to operate and maintain material feeders, extruders and downstream equipment. Together with your line team support, you'll be responsible for the quality and output of your line. Job Responsibilities

• Check daily production schedule and count-sheets in the office for any special instructions or changes
• Check and record machine speeds, regrind silo levels, and all other pertinent information on logs provided
• Check color barrels and hoppers so they do not go empty
• Make proper adjustments on extruders and associated equipment if necessary
• Frequent monitoring of extruder - back pressure, amps, screw and feeder speeds - so that limits are not exceeded
• Frequent monitoring of extruder heats zones and vacuum at vent
• Check product appearance and make adjustments as necessary
• Assist all machine tenders in solving any unusual problems and producing a quality product
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, and colleagues
• At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, construction, or related field
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation

• The hourly pay rate is $21 - $27/hr
