Job summary

Spokane Public Schools is seeking an extracurricular coaching staff member to lead athletic activities and programs. The role involves direct supervision of teams, ensuring safety, and maintaining compliance with district rules and the activities handbook.

The position includes coordinating with the activities coordinator, preparing practices, managing equipment, and communicating schedules to principals, parents, and students.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred (when possible).
• High school diploma or equivalent minimum qualification.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude toward students and ability to motivate them.
• Understand safety practices, techniques, rules, and skill development progression.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision and conduct of the team until students are dismissed from the building.
• Carry out administration of activity: insurance, parent/guardian approvals, rosters, accident reports, uniforms, transportation, and personal property security.
• Distribute information and schedules to principals, parents and participants.
• Attend meetings as called by the activities coordinator; pre- and post-season meetings required.
