The coordinator will ensure broadcasts meet applicable Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Sports Network requirements and NCAA postseason streaming standards. The position will also provide hands‑on production support when needed, including camera operation, b‑roll collection and assistance during periods of limited staffing or special events.
The successful candidate will be proactive, detail‑oriented and committed to ongoing evaluation. The position is intended to serve as a bridge between Athletics and the staff within OEM responsible for producing and operating live streams, helping establish clear expectations, improve communication and create a more consistent viewing experience for Prairie Stars audiences.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Streaming Evaluation and Quality Assurance - Regularly review live athletic streams and recorded broadcasts to assess picture quality, audio quality, camera work, graphics, commentary, replays, production consistency and overall viewer experience. Conduct pre-event, in-event and post-event quality checks to identify technical, operational, production and compliance concerns. Evaluate broadcasts against applicable GLVC Sports Network requirements and NCAA postseason streaming standards. Maintain records of evaluations, identified issues and areas requiring attention. Prepare written evaluations and communicate findings to Athletics and Office of Electronic Media staff. Identify recurring issues and determine their potential impact on broadcast quality, reliability, accessibility and compliance.

Planning and Continuous Improvement - Work with Athletics and the Office of Electronic Media to develop and implement solutions based on streaming evaluations. Establish priorities for addressing immediate concerns and improving broadcast operations on an ongoing basis. Develop and maintain procedures, checklists and standards that support consistent, high-quality broadcasts. Recommend improvements to staffing, equipment use, camera placement, production workflows, communication and training. Assist with implementing changes and monitor their effectiveness through subsequent evaluations. Help prepare and update streaming plans for regular-season, special-event and NCAA postseason broadcasts. Support the development of training materials and procedures for student workers and other stream personnel.

Streaming Compliance - Review applicable GLVC Sports Network streaming requirements and ensure UIS broadcasts are planned and produced in accordance with conference expectations. Monitor NCAA postseason streaming requirements and assist Athletics and Office of Electronic Media staff in preparing to meet applicable standards for postseason events. Maintain current knowledge of GLVC, NCAA and platform-specific streaming requirements. Assist with documenting compliance procedures and developing repeatable processes for regular-season and postseason broadcasts.

Event and Production Support - Assist with live event production during periods of limited staffing, high-volume competition or special events. Operate a camera or other production equipment as needed and within the employee’s training and qualifications. Collect b-roll and other video content to support athletic broadcasts, digital content and promotional needs. Assist with pre-event setup, testing and post-event responsibilities when necessary. Provide additional production support for special events, postseason competition and other high-priority broadcasts. Perform other duties as assigned in support of UIS Athletics communications, operations and streaming initiatives.
