Job summary

Daifuku Automotive America Corporation is seeking a Welder / Fitter I for our Reynoldsburg, OH facility. The role focuses on fitting, tacking, and MIG welding steel to support production while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must pass AWS D.1.1 3G vertical weld qualification.
• Intermediate blueprint reading knowledge.
• Knowledge of machine operation, cutting, sawing, drilling, and grinding parts is desirable.
• Ability to use welding tools.
• Forklifts and overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available).
• Team player and able to work with others.
• High sense of urgency to meet production goals.
• Attentive to detail; monitor material quality.

Responsibilities

The primary goal issatisfyingcustomer requirements of quality, quantity, and delivery, in a safe manner, while maximizing productivity. Specifically, theWelder / Fitter Iis responsible forall job activitiesrequiredto support production processes. These activities include but are not limitedto:fitting/adjusting parts, tacking, and MIG welding steel.Employee isresponsible for visually inspecting parts.

Other responsibilities

• Lays out, positions, and secures parts and fabricates material according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler

• Tack-welds or welds components and projects.

• May be subject to using powered saws,torchand hand plasma

• Prepares and finishes workpiece, using portable grinder, or scraper

• Welds components in all positions

• Set up welding equipment

• Ensure welds meet standards and specifications

• Perform precision layout tasks and precisely fit together their structural parts and components

• Read/work to engineered drawings and welding symbols

• Perform shop mathematical calculations

• Followsall plant safety guidelines,practicesand procedures. Also, be aware of activity in the work surroundings andmaintaina clean and safe work area

• Properly usepersonal protective equipment whenrequired

• Maintain regular attendance – have reliable means of transportation

• Perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation toskillslisted below is also desirable.

• Must have the ability to passaAWS D.1.1 3G vertical metal core pulse transfer weld qualification

• Must have intermediate blueprint reading knowledge

• Knowledge of machine operation, cutting, sawing, drilling, and grinding parts is desirable

• Ability to use welding tools

• Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available)

• Team player - must be able to work with others

• Must have andmaintaina high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals

• Attentive to detail watching for material defects and any quality issues

• Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling,reachingand twisting throughout shift

• Capableof repetitivelylifting 25-50 lbs.

• Candidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidays

• Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee works intypicalmanufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts.

• Overhead LED lights throughout the workspace create a bright workspace for employees to safely perform their work.

• Normally clean work environment where the process creates some grinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, and vibration. Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift.

• The noise level in the work environment is normal to manufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other tools. Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company tomonitorareas for improvement.

• Non-climate-controlled facility in thesummer,each work area is provided with fans to help keep cool. In thewinterit is heated.

Educationand Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing / fabrication welding
