Job summary

Daifuku North America is seeking skilled welders for 1st shift in Hobart, IN. You will weld metal parts, read blueprints, and select welding parameters to produce strong, code-compliant joints.

The role requires the ability to operate welding equipment and maintain quality standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates should have 3–5 years of welding experience and an accredited welding credential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; welding certificate or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years welding experience and AWS D1.1 certification.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret welding specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding machine feeding wire to bond materials.
• Plan work by interpreting blueprints and determine welding position.
• Set up welding equipment and ensure welds meet standards.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Welders join metal parts using high heat application to form permanent bonds.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operating welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
• Planning work by interpreting blueprints
• Determining welding position and type of metal to be fused
• Selecting and setting up welding equipment
• Ensuring welds meet standards and specifications
• Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Certificate or Associate degree in welding
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in welding
• AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Team orientation
• Crane operation experience preferred, but not required
• Forklift operation experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

ADA Requirements:

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Job Conditions: The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
