Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Sanitation Technician for a local beverage manufacturing client. Candidates must have experience with industrial or manufacturing maintenance or previous warehouse experience. This is a 3 mo. Contract-to-Hire position that will require candidates to work second or third shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM OR 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM) Wednesday - Sunday 100% onsite.

Pay Rate: $17-22/hr. *depending on qualification and experience

3 mo. Contract-to-Hire position (conversion to full time is based upon performance)

100% Onsite 5x/ week

Job Description:

The primary purpose of the Sanitation Technician is to ensure the proper cleaning of the production area and equipment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper cleaning of packaging equipment, conveyors, floors and drains.
  • Ensure adherence to master sanitation and packaging equipment schedules.
  • Ensure adherence of standard operating procedures.
  • Safely work with chemicals.
  • Maintain records of sanitation related activities.
  • Foster and help maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain a professional manner when working and communicating with all company personnel.
  • Identify recommendations to improve processes.
  • Notify manager when problems arise that cannot be quickly corrected.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as needed.
  • Perform duties in a manner that promotes efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Understanding of and experience with cleaning requirements, equipment, and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and industry standard cleaning procedures.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (includes nights/weekends/holidays).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • 1-year related experience in food safety, including manufacturing environments.
  • Positive and dependable with the ability to participate as a team member to achieve common goals with a sense of urgency.
  • Problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, positive, have a high degree of integrity, dependability and participate as a team member to achieve common goals with a sense of urgency.
  • Understanding of GMP, HACCP, Safe Quality Food Principles, and Food Defense Principles
  • Understand, speak, read, and write English.
