Position Summary:

External Sales representatives are responsible for recruiting, developing, and maintaining relationships with insurance agents and financial advisors. Their duties include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads, maintaining relationships with existing customers, and recommending marketing strategies tailored to specific target markets.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Promote and sell products and services to meet and exceed profitability goals using suggestive sales techniques.
  2. Maintain expert knowledge of the carrier and product portfolio.
  3. Participate in and lead training seminars, both in-person and online.
  4. Keep detailed notes in AMS/CRM systems regarding prospects and customers.
  5. Maintain call lists as assigned.
  6. Set appointments with customers.
  7. Review and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
  8. Recruit new representatives using high-level insight skills.
  9. Assist current reps in building their practices through training and mentoring on sales ideas and cross-selling techniques.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in insurance, wealth management, or financial services.
  • Life Insurance License.
Competencies:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask with attention to detail, ensuring speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven computer skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS CE, and Word.
Employment Details:

  • Travel for industry and company meetings, less than 10% annually.
