Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation in Charlotte, NC is seeking an External Reporting Analyst to support SEC filings, financial reporting, and SOX controls. You will collaborate with Accounting, Legal, Investor Relations, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

The role focuses on the preparation of Form 10-K/10-Q/8-K, footnote disclosures, MD&A, and close processes, with opportunities to drive process improvements and enhanced data quality in public company

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. CPA (or progressing towards a CPA) with public accounting and publicly traded company experience.
• Proven ability to prepare SEC filings and financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance in a public company environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and external reporting deliverables.
• Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Document technical accounting conclusions and reporting positions as needed.

Krispy Kreme's External Reporting Analyst supports the preparation of the Company's internal and external financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. This role is a key member of the Financial Reporting team and partners closely with Accounting, Legal, Investor Relations, and other cross-functional teams to help ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, earnings materials, and other public-company disclosures.

A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

SEC Reporting and Financial Statement Preparation

• Assist in the preparation of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other external reporting deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable SEC rules and regulations.
• Prepare and support the review of financial statements, footnote disclosures, and Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A).
• Perform tie-outs of financial statements and disclosures to supporting schedules, accounting records, and source documentation.
• Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting workpapers.
• Assist with the preparation of government, statutory, and other external reporting requirements, as applicable.

Technical Accounting and Compliance

• Assist with researching U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Support implementation of new accounting standards and disclosure requirements.
• Document technical accounting conclusions and reporting positions as needed.

Compliance & Controls

• Execute controls over financial reporting and disclosures in accordance with SOX requirements.
• Assist in maintaining documentation for key controls and support SOX testing efforts.

Audit Management

• Support external audit and quarterly review processes by preparing requested documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Assist in tracking and resolution of audit comments and review notes.

Process Improvement and Collaboration

• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, documentation, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve data quality and reporting outcomes.
• Support consistency and accuracy of messaging within financial disclosures.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:

• Bachelor's degree. CPA (or progressing towards a CPA) with public accounting and publicly traded company experience.
• Professional and effective verbal and written communication.
• Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems.
• Direct experience with SEC reporting for a publicly traded company.
• Functional knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance in a public company environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial reporting or ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
