Job summary

North-Canyon-Medical-Center seeks an External Relations Director to build engaging relationships across our service area. You will oversee Public Relations, Philanthropy, and Government Relations, coordinating with stakeholders to advance the organization's mission.

The role requires strong fundraising leadership, grant writing experience, and the ability to navigate nonprofit culture. You will lead campaigns, draft proposals, and advocate for policy partnerships with government and community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, business or related field preferred or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years professional work experience in fund development; healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience in writing government proposals with a proven track record of successful outcomes.
• Experience preparing technical project proposals or reports for funding groups or agencies.
• Ability to respond quickly to new fundraising opportunities and to changing priorities.
• Must be self-motivated, detail and deadline oriented, and possess the ability to “flow” with non-profit culture essential.
• Must have the ability to work comfortably with a variety of program team members at various levels of the organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and fundraising databases.
• Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension and expression.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently with minimal to no supervision.
• Excellent follow-through with projects and strong attention to detail.
• Entrepreneurial – must be willing and able to take initiative and handle a multitude of tasks under the pressure of deadlines.
• Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings as projects necessitate.
• Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards for performance improvement and organizational values.
