Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Spring & Summer 2027 Finance Analyst Co-op to support the County of San Diego Contract from January 2027 through August 2027. The role involves supporting procurement, billing, status reporting, and tracking cloud spend to identify cost-saving opportunities as cloud usage expands.

As an intern/co-op, you will work 40 hours per week in a hybrid arrangement based in San Diego, CA, collaborating with Peraton professionals on real projects modernizing County services, including

Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Spring & Summer 2027 Finance Analyst Co-op to support the Country of San Diego Contract from January 2027 through August 2027.

As a Finance Analyst Co-op students will support the financial operations behind the County contract, including procurement, billing, status reporting, and tracking cloud spend. You'll help identify cost-saving opportunities as the County's cloud footprint grows.

Peraton is the County of San Diego's IT and telecommunications partner, supporting the technology that County departments rely on to serve more than 3 million residents, from public health and social services to public safety and libraries. As a intern/co-op on the CoSD program, you'll work alongside Peraton professionals on real projects that modernize County services, including emerging work applying AI to how software is designed, built, and delivered.

Co-op structure: 40 hours/week throughout the duration of the co-op, with a hybrid work arrangement based in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship
• HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
• You are a current undergrad or graduate student and have completed progress or pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)
• Strong attention to detail with financial data

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with FinOps concepts or cloud cost tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer)
• Experience with ServiceNow or procurement workflows
• Dashboarding experience (Power BI, Tableau)
• FinOps Certified Practitioner or AWS Cloud Practitioner (or interest in pursuing)

Target Salary Range

The rate / range per hour below represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
