Job description

External Funds Relationship Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to oversee all aspects of the relationship with our External Funds. This role requires a strong background in Core Operations or Middle Office within a hedge fund, combined with project management expertise. The External Funds Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing the onboarding process, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role involves navigating the complexities of integrating external funds into Millennium’s ecosystem, including trading system integration, asset class diversity, and customized agreements

Key Responsibilities:

  • External Fund Onboarding:

    • Develop and execute tailored onboarding plans for External Funds, addressing their unique requirements.

    • Manage the integration of external trading systems with Millennium’s ecosystem, including extensive testing and validation.

    • Coordinate with internal teams (Trade Support, Finance, P&L Team, Valuations, etc.) to ensure seamless onboarding and operational readiness.

  • Relationship Management:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for External Funds, building strong relationships and addressing inquiries or issues promptly.

    • Ensure operational efficiency and accuracy by overseeing day-to-day functions and resolving challenges.

  • Complexity Management:

    • Navigate the diverse needs of External Funds, including varying asset classes, trading systems, payout agreements, and financing rules.

    • Collaborate across departments to address fund-specific requirements and mitigate risks.

  • Process Improvement & Project Management:

    • Lead initiatives to streamline onboarding workflows and improve operational processes.

    • Manage testing, integration, and cross-functional coordination to ensure compatibility and functionality of external systems.

Qualifications:

  • Required Experience:

    • Core Operations or Middle Office experience at a hedge fund is essential.

    • Proven track record in project management, including planning, execution, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Skills:

    • Strong organizational and project management skills.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

    • Ability to manage complex integrations, including trading system testing and validation.

    • Deep understanding of diverse asset classes, trading systems, payout agreements, and financing rules.

    • Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
