Job summary

EDAG in Louisville, KY seeks an Exterior System Launch Engineer to coordinate exterior-systems launch activities from pre-production through ramp-up. You will track issues, milestones, risks, and owners while leading structured problem-solving for fit, finish, and quality.

You will support vehicle builds, plant trials, launch reviews, containment actions, and escalation processes, reviewing DFMEAs and control plans. English required, 6 months contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• 5 years of experience supporting automotive launch, manufacturing readiness, or vehicle build events.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to issue investigation and closure.
• Working knowledge of DFMEA and Control Plan development or review.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, supplier quality, process validation, and production-readiness reviews.
• Familiar with root-cause analysis methods (8D or equivalent) and quality metrics (MSA, SPC).
• Knowledge of build tracking, issue-management systems, launch dashboards, and milestone reporting.
• English proficiency (C1-C2).

• Support vehicle builds, plant trials, launch reviews, containment activities, and escalation processes.
• Review and help maintain DFMEAs, Control Plans, and related quality and launch-readiness deliverables.
• Verify that corrective actions are implemented and effective; document evidence and escalate unresolved risks.
• Coordinate supplier and plant support, including part availability, inspection, rework, and process readiness.
• Support alignment between engineering intent, manufacturing requirements, and build/production feedback.
