Goken seeks an exterior launch design release engineer to provide onsite support at an automotive plant, driving design release and smooth program launches for exterior vehicle systems.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, root-cause investigations, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and product engineering teams to ensure manufacturing readiness and field performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5 years Exterior systems experience.
• Experience supporting production launch of Exterior systems.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Knowledge of DFMEA and GD&T.
• Ability to work effectively in manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, release and launch Exterior vehicle system components from concept to production.
• Provide onsite engineering support during vehicle and component launches at the plant.
• Review production data to catch issues early and push fixes upstream.
• Lead root cause investigations using 5-Why, fishbone, fault tree analysis, and FMEA.
• Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supplier quality, product engineering, and program teams.
• Update design guidelines, specifications, and manufacturing or inspection processes so lessons learned are engineered into future revisions.
• Support containment activities, corrective action implementation, and validation of solutions at plant and supplier sites.
• Monitor field, plant, and supplier concerns to identify trends and proactively address risks.
• Travel as required
• Perform other duties as needed
