Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead exterior ADAS sensor integration and the cleaning system packaging for production vehicles in Long Beach, CA. You will own sensor enclosure, FOV, mounting interfaces, and the cleaning architecture, collaborating across exteriors, ADAS, electrical, and supplier teams.

The role requires hands-on exterior sensor experience, GD&T mastery, and release process ownership, with on-site duties in Long Beach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of automotive mechanical engineering with ADAS/autonomy sensor integration.
• Experience packaging exterior mounted sensors and related brackets.
• Knowledge of camera, radar, lidar, and ultrasonic sensor constraints.
• Strong GD&T, tolerance stacking, and datum strategy skills.
• Experience with plastics, sheet metal, and die cast components; DFM knowledge.
• Ownership of DFMEA, DVP&R, and test plan development through validation.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE, or Siemens NX; Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical integration of exterior ADAS sensors across fascias, grilles, and closures.
• Own FOV analysis, obstruction studies, and sensor pointing definitions.
• Define and release sensor brackets, housings, and mounting interfaces.
• Drive sensor alignment strategy and end-of-line calibration feasibility.
• Own exterior sensor cleaning architecture including nozzle design and fluid routing.
• Define test methods for cleaning performance under various conditions.
• Coordinate with thermal/electrical teams on heat rejection and harness routing.
• Manage DFMEA, DVPR, and boundary diagrams for sensor subsystems.
• Support prototype builds, buck reviews, and vehicle-level test events.
• Ensure compliance with sensor visibility and ADAS regulatory needs.
