Job summary

L&T Technology Services Limited in Irvine, CA, is seeking an Exterior Mechanism Design Release engineer to drive design and industrialization of exterior mechanisms and high-torque actuators for wipers, mirrors, and related systems.

You will collaborate with software and electrical teams, use CATIA V5/3D Experience, and deliver robust mechanical solutions, GD&T drawings, and NVH improvements, ensuring DFMs and timely design iterations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for engineering
• Experience in mechanical design of exterior vehicle mechanisms preferred.
• Knowledge of CAD tools and GD&T is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Design exterior mechanism in a DRE role.
• Lead design and industrialization of high torque actuators and motors for wiper, charge port, ext mirror and tonneau system.
• Develop actuators and motors for charge port doors, exterior mirrors, tonneau covers, and glazing systems.
• Define mechatronic requirements with software and electrical teams to refine motor control, sensor feedback, and diagnostics.
• Utilize Catia V5/3D Experience to integrate motors and actuators with rapid design iterations.
• Work with studio team to provide engineering criteria and high-quality A-Surface meeting DFMs.
• Develop, prototype and industrialize various mechanisms and actuators in vehicle features.
• Create 2D drawings with GD&T.
• Drive continuous improvement in mechanism kinematics and NVH profiles.

• Work with the studio team to provide engineering criteria sections and generate high quality A-Surface that meet all DFM requirements while keeping with the theme of the vehicle
• Develop, prototype and industrialize various mechanisms and actuators in the vehicle features
• Create 2D drawings with GD&T
• Drive continuous improvement in mechanism kinematics and NVH profiles.
