Job summary

The Ohio State University Extension is seeking an Extension Educators Coordinator 3 for 4-H Youth Development in Medina County to expand and deliver STEM education across schools, libraries, parks and community groups, including Cloverbud programming.

You will support the 4-H Educator and county Extension team, plan hands-on curricula in robotics, coding, environmental science, and agricultural engineering, manage events, volunteer engagement, and track metrics; travel required within Medina

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Associate degree may be preferred.
• 2 years of relevant experience required; 4-6 years preferred.
• Coursework or experience in youth development, education, agriculture, or a STEM field is highly preferred.
• Must pass a comprehensive Ohio State University criminal background check and fingerprinting; travel to programming sites within Medina County and trainings in Columbus and other areas in Ohio (travel reimbursement provided).

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and teach hands-on 4-H STEM curricula (robotics, coding, aerospace, environmental science, agricultural engineering) in schools, after-school programs, libraries, parks, day camps, and community clubs.
• Lead Cloverbud programming including Cloverbud committee, day camp, and Cloverbud judging.
• Assist with planning, setup, and management of local 4-H events, member engagement, volunteer management, and tracking event registrations and metrics.
• Attend county fair board meetings and junior fair committee meetings as needed.

Position Located in: Medina County

The 4-H Program Assistant supports the 4-H Educator and the County Extension team in planning and delivering high-quality, positive youth development experiences, bridging the gap between university research and county youth through hands‑on learning. This role focuses specifically on expanding and executing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) educational programming across various community spaces and Cloverbud planning and management.

This position will 1)plan, coordinate, and teach hands‑on 4-H STEM curricula (such as robotics, coding, aerospace, environmental science, and agricultural engineering) in spaces including in‑school and after‑school programs, libraries, parks, day camps, and community clubs; 2)lead Cloverbud programming including Cloverbud committee, Cloverbud day camp, and Cloverbud judging.

This program assistant will assist with planning, setting up, and managing local 4-H educational events, member engagement, volunteer management, tracking event registrations, managing program equipment, and entering survey or data metrics to evaluate program impact. Attending county fair board meetings and junior fair committee meetings as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.

Coursework or experience in youth development, education, agriculture, or a STEM field is highly preferred. Must successfully pass a comprehensive Ohio State University criminal background check and fingerprinting. Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation to travel to programming sites throughout Medina County and trainings in Columbus and other areas in the state of Ohio (travel reimbursement provided per university policy).

The pay range for this profile is $16.65 - $21.77 hourly. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
