Penn State Cooperative Extension seeks an Extension Educator to support the vegetable and small fruit industries, focusing on protected culture (high tunnels and greenhouses). The role involves developing and delivering educational programs, providing leadership in program planning, and conducting outreach through various methods including in-person, virtual, and one-on-one consultations.
Ideal candidates will have knowledge of Cooperative Extension operations, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, experience in research and funding acquisition, and effective communication abilities. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
Minimum of a master's degree and 1+ years of relevant experience for the Intermediate Professional level; higher qualifications for advanced levels. Relevant experience in horticultural crop production and a background in Horticulture and Entomology are preferred. Valid driver’s license and background checks are required.
Salary ranges from $51,000 to $89,600, depending on experience and education. The position offers a flexible work arrangement combining remote and on-campus work. The role may require travel, evening, and weekend work.
