Cambridge Public Schools seeks an Extended Term Substitute Health Assisting Teacher for the Rindge School of Technical Arts. This role involves teaching a diverse student population about the Health Assisting industry, implementing a Chapter 74 curriculum, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and experience in Health Assisting.

The Opportunity :
The Health Assisting Teacher reports to, and is supervised by, the Executive Director for Rindge School of Technical Arts (RSTA). This is a long-term substitute teaching position working with a diverse student population in an urban setting. The Health Assisting Teacher is responsible for delivering instruction and assessment within a Chapter 74-approved curriculum that integrates career/vocational/technical and academic education for Health Assisting students in Grades 9-12. This curriculum will involve all aspects of the Health Assisting industry, including financial, environmental, health & safety, hands-on instruction, and the role of Health Assisting professional within the industry. The Health Assisting Teacher is responsible for educating students in the underlying principles of safety in the workplace, employability skills, the technical competencies as detailed in the MA DESE Frameworks, and all aspects of the healthcare industry. The Health Assisting Teacher will also educate students in concepts of the business enterprise part of the program.
