Job summary

World Bank Group is seeking an Extended Term Consultant (ETC) for Readiness based in Washington, DC. The role focuses on strengthening evidence-based programme delivery, capacity-building, and knowledge management within the Readiness Programme, reporting to the Senior Programme Officer.

The ETC will support events, grant processes, and portfolio monitoring, collaborating with the CPU and Secretariat teams to advance climate finance readiness in developing countries.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in international development, business administration, public policy, Climate Change, Environmental Management, Sustainability or other relevant field.
• 2 years work experience in the climate finance space with developing country experience and/or work with multilateral development organizations an asset.
• Excellent written communication in English; Fluency in French or Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of the Readiness Strategy and Readiness-related components of the Medium-term Strategy, including preparing implementation plans, technical assessments and analytical products.
• Support Readiness Events by preparing materials, agendas, planning, capturing proceedings and disseminating reports.
• Assist in the launch, review and approval of Readiness Grants, including calls for proposals and uploading project documents.
• Monitor and report on readiness project outputs; maintain data, generate reports, and support knowledge management and dissemination of learnings.
