An established educational institution is seeking licensed special education teachers for its Extended School Year program. This role involves leading classrooms, developing schedules, and maintaining daily attendance while ensuring that students meet their IEP goals. The program runs for six weeks, offering a unique opportunity to work closely with diverse students in a supportive environment. The Special Education Department is now accepting applications for summer employment in the Extended School Year program (ESY). All current employees are encouraged to apply. Please note that you must be a licensed special education teacher to lead a classroom or SLC classroom.
Dates: July 7th – August 14th (Six weeks, 4 days a week)
Time: Monday – Thursday (9:00am – 12:00pm)
Please note that staff preferences regarding grade/age will be honored to the extent possible.
Pay Rates:
Educators who are instructors in APS summer programs are eligible to enroll their child(ren) in SummerFun! during the weeks they are teaching. You may enroll your elementary-aged child (grades 1-5, Fall ’25) at a 75% discount for non-vendor classes and 30% discount for vendor classes. Materials fees and some classes are excluded. Preschool students will be at Menotomy (12 Mill Brook Drive).
Current grades: K-4 students and incoming Grade K students will be at Pierce.
Current grades: 5-7 students will be at Gibbs.
Current grades: 8-11 students will be at AHS.
