Extended School Year Special Education Teacher
Building: North, West, Northern Transition, Southern Transition
Openings: Anticipating 12 openings. Positions will be filled based on student enrollment
Position Type: Teacher will serve as a resource to all special education students enrolled in ESY. Stipend based on $54.90 per hour.
Start Date: June 4, 2026
Extended School Year Dates/Times: June 8th - July 16, 2026 Monday - Thursday (Staff hours 8:00-11:30). No school on July 6th. In Service and Meet and Greet on June 4, 2026
Teachers are charged with ensuring that Extended School Year is an authentic learning experience that adheres to curriculum standards established by Glenbard while using instructional techniques based on students' individual IEP goals. Staff will develop detailed lesson plans; instruct students; maintain attendance and classroom control; assess & document progress on IEP goals; and foster a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
Physical demands: The physical demands are within the industry norm. While performing the job, the employee may be required to sit, stand, walk, lift, talk, see and/or hear, as well as to be able to operate duplicating machines and computer equipment.
