Job summary
Wyomissing Area School District is seeking a Summer Staff/Extended School Year Paraprofessional to support the Special Education Department during ESY sessions. The program runs approximately June 29, 2026 to July 29, 2026, with weekly schedules usually on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Qualified candidates may hold a Paraprofessional Certificate or an Associates Degree, or have related experience. Prior experience with students with autism and emotional disturbances is preferred.
Qualifications
- Paraprofessional Certificate or Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience working with students with special needs, including autism and emotional disturbance.
- Strong ability to support instructional activities in ESY settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist SPED teachers during ESY sessions.
- Support small groups and individual students in academics and behavior.
- Prepare materials and track student progress during program dates.

The Special Education Department is currently recruiting personnel for the 2026 Extended School Year (ESY) program.
Program Dates: approximately June 29, 2026 to July 29, 2026
Weekly Schedule: usually Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Program Times (subject to change):
- JSHS - 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
- WREC - 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- WHEC - 9:00 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- Parapofessional Certificate OR Associates Degree OR At least
- Prior experience teaching students with special needs, including those diagnosed with autism and emotional disturbances
