Position Details
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. (5 hours per day)
  • Session Dates: July 7-10, July 14-17, July 21-24
  • Benefits: Benefits are in accordance with the labor agreement covering Paraeducators - https://www.isd622.org/about/human-resources
  • Work Year: Summer 2025
  • Pay: External candidates: $23.14/hour; Internal candidates: according to the 2021-2023 step placement per MOU.
  • Note: This position is not benefits eligible.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED plus one of the following: AA, AS, AAS degree, or two years of relevant post-secondary coursework, or passing score on ParaEducator test.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and restrain students in emergencies.
  • Clean driving record and successful completion of District Transportation Training.
  • Ability to drive district vehicle.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and with students with various disabilities.
  • Ability to implement behavior intervention plans and use basic technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education.
  • Experience as a job coach, paraprofessional, or with individuals with disabilities.
  • Training in behavior management.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise students at community-based worksites and support their learning of workplace skills.
  • Act as liaison between employer and district work coordinator.
  • Support students and educational staff with behavioral and personal needs, including physical movement, personal care, and transportation.
  • Monitor student progress, document data, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Applicants should be able to walk throughout the building, lift/move up to 50 pounds with assistance, and restrain students when trained. The district is an equal opportunity employer and promotes an inclusive environment.
