Job summary
The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) offers a postdoctoral fellowship with USAISR at Joint Base San Antonio. The role focuses on developing medical clinical decision support systems using extended reality technologies and software engineering, with hands-on experience in usability evaluation and visualization.
You will grow your skills under mentorship, conducting diverse research activities and disseminating findings through journals and demonstrations.
Qualifications
- The candidate holds a PhD in Biomedical Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering or another eligible discipline.
- U.S. military veterans with a PhD earned within the last 60 months are eligible.
- Applicable experience in laboratory/clinical settings and related research is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Engage in clinical decision support research and software usability studies.
- Develop and test XR-based medical simulation and immersive guidance systems.
- Design experiments and evaluate medical sensors integrated with headsets.
- Document methods, results and processes in detailed reports and presentations.
- Disseminate research findings through journals, conferences, and demonstrations.
