Job summary

Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day is seeking an Extended Day Program Director in Washington, DC. You will lead day-to-day operations, guide staff, and ensure a safe, engaging play-based curriculum. You will coordinate communications with families and lead professional development.

This role emphasizes ongoing training, policy implementation, and community outreach to sustain Wonders' high standards and accreditation goals.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Preference will be given to previous experience as a Program Director.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and implementation of a play-based curriculum.
• Supervise and lead staff to create a meaningful learning environment.
• Ensure health and safety of all children and staff.
• Provide program management reports on a regular basis.
• Participate in recruitment activities.
• Oversee enrollment processes and budget adherence.
• Ensure the program meets state licensing requirements and pursue accreditation.
