Job summary

Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day in Washington, DC is seeking a Program Director for our Extended Day Program to manage day-to-day operations and lead staff in delivering a play-based curriculum within a nurturing, inclusive community.

Ideal candidates hold a BA/BS in early childhood education and have at least 3 years of teaching experience, with preference for prior program director roles and strong verbal/written communication skills. Full-time on-site role with benefits.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field preferred.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience.
• Preference will be given to previous experience as a Program Director.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and implementation of a play-based curriculum.
• Supervise and lead staff to create a meaningful learning environment.
• Ensure health and safety of all children and staff.
• Provide program management reports on a regular basis.
• Participate in recruitment activities.
• Order and maintain adequate program and office supplies and resources.
• Oversee enrollment processes, manage program financials, and ensure budget adherence.
• Conduct regular meetings with staff, parents, and community representatives.
• Organize and maintain filing systems including children and staff files.
• Complete enrollment and re-enrollment processes using enrollment software.
• Ensure the program meets all state licensing requirements.
• Aid in establishing and/or maintaining accreditation.
• Maintain Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
• Establish partnerships with families and host school.
