Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age.
• Desire to work with / teach students in grades K - 8.
• Child Care or Youth Camp experience is a plus.
• Maintain a neat and professional image at all times.
• Strong problem solving and multitasking abilities.
• Positive attitude with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Understand students' needs and manage conflicts per school procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead an independent study block and Indoor Lesson.
• Supervise an outdoor playground/recreation block.
• Be the on-site point of contact for the assigned grade(s).
• Provide guidance for other staff assigned to their grades.
• Support daily leadership of the assigned grades during after-school hours.

Position Overview :

Friends School of Baltimore is looking for Extended Day Counselors. These positions work with students in the Extended Day program to facilitate a safe and engaging after school program. Each Counselor will be assigned a specific grade block, and will be the on-site point of contact for the assigned grade(s). The position is responsible for daily leadership of the assigned grades and leads an independent study block and Indoor Lesson. The position also supervises an outdoor playground/recreation block and provides guidance for other staff assigned to their grades.

Hours are between 2:45 PM and 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday on School Days only.
