Job Description

Human Resources is accepting applications for the Extended Day Care Assistant Supervisor(s) applicant pool; Full-time, Grade X-10, 191-days, 7.5 hours per day (variable split-shift schedules). Note: work site location, work schedule/hours, contract work days, etc., are subject to change depending on the needs of APS.

Interviews will be conducted on an as-needed basis during the 2025-2026 School Year.

Responsibilities
  • Support the on-site supervisor in the overall operation of the Extended Day program.
  • Manage the program during times when the supervisor is not present.
  • Create a culture of learning through professional development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students aged 4-12.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate programs and activities.
  • Collaborate with school staff and develop intervention strategies.
  • Communicate with parents, staff, and administrators.
  • Coach and evaluate staff; ensure staff meet development requirements.
  • Lead professional development sessions.
  • Manage program resources, budget, and materials.
  • Earn and maintain certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration Training within 60 days of employment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Out of School Time best practices.
  • Experience leading child care staff and developing program activities.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise children safely in various settings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, social media, and internet.
  • Must meet one of the following:
    • 2 years supervising staff and 16 college semester hours in education, early childhood, recreation, or related fields, OR
    • Early Childhood Education Certificate, OR
    • 80% of Child Development Associates (CDA) coursework completed.

Additional Information

Salary will be based on the FY26 Pay Plan. Candidates with prior relevant experience may receive salary credit for up to five years. This is a full-time, mid-senior level management position in primary and secondary education.
