Description

Job Title: Extended Care Worker

Department: After School

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Employment Status: Part-Time, < 15 hours/week

Reports to: Extended Care Director

PURPOSE/FUNCTION:

To provide child care services to children registered in the CCS Extended Care Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist children in a variety of settings and capacities, which may include but is not limited to, helping with homework, snack time, crafts or play time (indoors or outdoors).
• Respond positively to different situations and circumstances as they arise.
• Recognize needs of children at different stages of development.
• Supervise children at all times, ensuring their well-being and safety.
• Treat all children with dignity and respect.
• Ensure work area isclean and tidy each day.
• Ensureall children are signed in and out by an authorized parent or nominated person.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Chattanooga Christian School.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good candidates are highly motivated, energetic and able to work both independently or as a team member.
• Good candidates should be reliable, and available to work two to five days per week between the hours of 2:45 and 6:00 pm.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This is a very active job, requiring frequent alternating between standing, sitting, walking, crouching, pushing, pulling and possibly lifting.
• The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
