St. Stephen Protomartyr School is seeking a caring and dependable Extended Care Aide to support the supervision and care of students enrolled in the before- and after-school program. The Extended Care Aide ensures a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for students while promoting respect, responsibility, and Christian values in keeping with the mission of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Responsibilities

Supervise students during extended care hours, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior.

Engage children in age-appropriate activities including games, crafts, homework help, and group play.

Assist with snack distribution, cleanup, and daily transitions.

Maintain a positive, respectful atmosphere that reflects Catholic values.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

Report any concerns or incidents to the Extended Care Director or school administration.

Help with daily setup and breakdown of the extended care space.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting preferred

Reliable, responsible, and able to supervise children of various ages

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission and values of Catholic education

Must complete all Archdiocese of St. Louis Safe Environment requirements, including background checks and Protecting God’s Children training
