Program Commitment: Team Members are required to complete: 1 (one) 13-week assignment
Oct 1st - March 31st (surge season) each year.
Assignment Placement: New Team Members are placed based on facility needs, and will not receive a service agreement prior to final clearance to start.
Job Summary: The Registered Respiratory Therapist, working under the direction of the RC Manager/Director, is responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on expanded knowledge and experience. The RRT is responsible for delivering patient care in complex, multiple problem-patient care situations. The majority of time is in critical care areas with significant independent decision-making and self-direction. In addition, to patient care delivery, the RRT is responsible for patient, family/support system education, coordination of activities, staff development, and professional and self-developmental activities. The RRT is responsible for providing patient care with an understanding and awareness of population specific needs. The RRT addresses the biological, emotional, and developmental, psychosocial, and patient/family education needs when providing care to the patient. The therapist also participates in the education of new employees and others. Performance of this job will also require a close working relationship with the Medical staff and Respiratory Care Leadership. Good customer relation, assessment, and communication skills are a must for this job.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an AMA approved training program in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Sciences (B.S. degree required). Required
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required, and 2 years preferred.
Previous Travel Experience strongly preferred
Required Minimum Skills: Ability to communicate well, critical thinking skills, establish and maintain working relations with physicians and other health care personnel, and computer skills including familiarity with databases
